R.B. Rice’s lard tins were a form of vintage American advertising and were produced in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. This is a unique find to be able to offer three different sizes of buckets that each advertise R.B. Rice Pig Lard. The largest pail has double attached handles and is a 25 pound net weight container. This pail measures 12″ high and has a diameter of 10″ diameter. This can is marked by the maker, ‘Canco – T.M. American Can Company’. The middle size of storage container is an eight pound container and has a wire bail handle and note that this container has a pig figure on either side of the pail. This pail is bright and colorful and very attractive. This pail measures 8 1/2″ high and at the widest the diameter is 7 1/2″ diameter. The third and smallest pail is a 4 pound tin container that measures 6 1/4″ high and at the widest diameter is 6″ diameter, and has a wire bail handle. Again, excellent pig graphic that advertises R.B. Rice’s Pure Lard. This tin is also marked by it’s maker ‘Canco – T.M. American Can Company’. The color combination that R.B. Rice’s chose to use is bright and cheery, you will not want to miss adding these containers to your own personal tin advertising collection.
