Antique Large Mettlach Stein – Tavern Scene – 20″ high

Antique all original LARGE 4.5 liter Mettlach stein that is marked number 1578 on the bottom, along with the Mettlach wordage and symbol and the words, ‘Gegen Nachbildung – Geschutzt’. The design is the Tavern Scene. This stein measures 20″ high to the top finial and the diameter on the bottom is 7″, and the top opening is 4 3/4″ diameter. Note the wordage on this stein, I have been told that it refers to, ‘The old Germans Drink’. This stein is in the stein reference book by Kirsner on page 76-77 – #1578.
