This is a taller and impressive Mettlach stein that features a print under glaze or PUG design of two drinking men and note the two monkeys with steins in hands as well. This mug measures 16 3/4″ high and has a bottom diameter of 4 3/4″ diameter while at the widest point being 6 1/2″ wide. Note the ‘Mettlach 2176’ and ‘Geschutzt 1055’ signatures. There is German wordage that I believe reads, ‘He who has never had an intoxication is not a good man’. This is a large stein! What an impressive and colorful Mettlach stein that you will not want to miss adding to your personal collection..
