This beautiful Dining set was made by Limbert. Charles P. Limbert (1854-1923) was one of the most successful furniture leaders in the history of Grand Rapids and the Arts and Crafts movement in America. The furniture that bears his name is often the most extraordinary examples of Arts and Crafts furniture ever made, and to this day is highly sought after and seriously collected. “Charles P. Limbert Furniture Co.” started in Grand Rapids in 1902. Limbert’s provided several major custom orders of furniture for the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park. The hotel is still filled with Limbert Rockers, Arm-Chairs and Settles.
Round Oak Dining Table – Limbert Round Oak Dining Table. This is a great Dining Room Set in the mission oak arts and crafts design. Made by Limbert Furniture Company. The table measures 50″ diameter. The table is complete with its four leaves that are 12″ wide. When the leaves are in the table it extends to 98″ long. The table stands 30 1/2″ high. The numbers are stamped under the table. This table came from the same house as the great Limbert and sideboard & matching China cabinet, that can be viewed on our website as well. Notice the 1″ thickness to this table’s top and then the 3 1/2″ apron skirt.
Rare Mission Oak Sideboard – Limbert sideboard with a cut out clover leaf on the back. Notice the two small curio sections on either end of the top section of this sideboard. These curio cabinet sections measure 9 1/2″ wide by 14′ high and are 10 1/2″ deep. What an awesome place to display that special piece of pottery that you have always wanted to feature but didn’t want it exposed to an open area. This sideboard measures 66″ high, 60″ wide and is 24″ deep. The sideboard has a paper label marked, ‘Limberts Arts & Crafts Furniture Trademark – Made in Grand Rapids & Holland’. Original ‘V’ shaped hardware and notice the back plates on the hardware have almost a heart shaped design to them. Several storage options with the lined silverware drawer, the full-length linen drawer and the two side doors. This sideboard has beautiful quarter sawn oak wood with a rich original dark brown finish. Original hardware and Mackmurdo feet.
Mission Oak China Cabinet – This is a wonderful Limbert designed, all original Signed Limbert China cabinet with a cut out clover leaf on the back. This has classical mission arts and crafts style with paned doors and sides. The top two exposed sections have plate grooves for help in display. The legs have Mackmurdo feet. The back side has a paper label that reads ‘Limbert’s Arts & Crafts Furniture Trademark Made in Grand Rapids & Holland’. Measurements are the height is 66″ high, 44″ wide, and it is 15″ deep.
