Antique Reverse Painted with Stylized Leaves & Stems on Shade – Handel Lamp

All original Handel 14″ diameter domical shade done in the Handel ‘chipped’ style with lightly sand finished glass. The shade is decorated with stylized enameled leaves and stems that serve as a border to the base of the shade. The style of this lamp reflects an arts and crafts mission theme. The shade is signed Handel in two places. Once around the top metal ring that supports the shade where it reads, ‘Handel – Pat’d No. 979664’ and then on the underside of the shade there is the signature, ‘Handel #5642 – US Patent #979664’. The bronze base with slender squared baluster form, lobe shaped square feet is also marked ‘Handel’ on the pedestal’s outer edge. This lamp measures 21 1/2″ high and is in great working order and will make a statement in any home or office whether it is lit or off.
