Antique Grueby Green Vase. This vase is signed Grueby and has the original paper label on the bottom of the vase. This Grueby vase measures: 6 1/2″ tall and top opening diameter is 2 1/2″ diameter and bottom diameter at the widest is 4″ diameter. William Grueby founded the Grueby Faience Company in Revere, Massachusetts in 1897. He produced pottery, terra cotta, enameled bricks, tiles, altars and other articles until 1920. Grueby pottery vases and bowls are highly-sought antiques renowned for their organic arts and crafts shapes with distinctive matt glazes. John acquired this piece from an antique show in Denver, Colorado during the 1980’s.
