Antique Walnut Cylinder Secretary Desk – original finish

This antique Walnut Cylinder Secretary Desk is in original finish with a rich patina. This desk has a beautiful crest that wraps around the molding on the bookcase that has adjustable shelves. The carved crest is decorated with leaves and acorns. The doors have burl panels with incised carvings on each corner. The cylinder desk is made with divided curved shaped burl panels. When desk is open the writing surface will slide forward. The face of the drawers is decorated with burl. Hardware complete and in good condition. The base is supported on double wheel castors (1 1/2″). Measures 98″ Height, 42″ Width and 20″ Depth. This secretary desk originally came from an estate in Lawrence, Kansas. Circa 1880.
