An outstanding early rare 3 legged wood and cast butter churn that is all original and in good condition. Made by the ‘Union Churn Company – No. 2. This churn has a patent date of December 20, 1864. On one side it reads: First Premium taken at the state fairs of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and New York. Felix & Marston General Agents of Chicago. The churn is complete with wooden paddles for churning the butter. This piece measures 20 1/2 by 14 1/2″ and stands 34″ high. The handle extends out another 7″ from the base of the churn. Note the metal handles to carry this churn.
