Antique American Victorian Walnut Bookcase in very good condition. This bookcase cabinet has adjustable shelves. Two drawers in the base. Rich burl wood on the side panels. This bookcase was constructed to break down for easy moving. This came from the Boston area. Circa 1870. This bookcase measures 49 1/2″ wide by 20 1/2″ deep and is 104 1/2″ high or (8 ft. 4 1/2 inches).
This Bookcase has the letter D carved in the crest. Which makes sense with a neat furniture label on the back side of the cabinet that reads: shipped to: J.W. Day, Uxbridge, Mass. From: Potter Denison & Co. Dealers in Rich Cabinet Furniture. Howard Building 137 West Minister Street and 50 and 51 Exchange Place, Providence, R. I. There was information that we found online that J.W. Day were the largest taxpayers of the county, making this fine bookcase very affordable to them at this time.
