Figural String Holder Apple and Worm

Exceptional all original condition on this chalkware string holder that depicts an apple, which has become a home for the worm. Measures 6″ high by 4 1/2″ wide and approx. 2 1/2″ deep. On back written in pencil “1939 Christmas” Perhaps this gift was given to a school teacher. String dispensed through the very bottom of the apple.
