Vintage 1940s German Casige Toy Sewing Machine Casige Fairy Tale Model 121. Hand Operated. The name Casige, was pronounced (Kaseege), Casige produced toys from 1902 until 1975. This size of machine was not a toy as they were designed for children to learn how to sew – perfect size for making doll clothes. It is a single thread that produces a chain stitch.
This is a rare little one with a Fairy or Pixie on one side and a Boy Archer who I am guessing is William Tell and his dog on the reverse side. Casige had over 83 models in over 600 different design combinations. This is by far the one to have and on all collectors top 10 list. Engraved on the silver sewing plate is an eagle and Casige Made in Germany British Zone. Color is a gloss black and, on the base, has a wonderful art deco design. Machine Measures; 6 3/4” x 4” x 6” tall.
