This antique country store display and shipping wooden box with tin liner was for selling and shipping ”Aircraft Brand Japan Tea’ – Packed in Japan for the Donald Company Grand Island, Nebraska’. The box has dovetailed corners and is a larger box measuring 11 1/4″ deep by 17″ wide and 9 1/2″ high. The inside lid of the box has the advertising label. We were given information regarding John Donald the owner of Donald Company. He is listed in the Who’s Who in Nebraska for Hall County and it states he came to Grand Island, Nebr, in 1899, and established the Donald Company. There is a second listing of John Donald being listed in the Register of Historical Places in Hall County and he is known for significant years from 1900 to 1924.
