W177C  Boars Head Cane sterling or Walking Stick

A head of a wild boar or pig with tusks on either side of it's snout decorates the top handle on this all original old antique cane. Note the fine detailed work in the silver metal on this cane. One can see that someone over the years has applied silver polish to the silver metal as you can see the residue from the polish in the corners of the boar's mouth. It also appears that around the very bottom rim of the head where the silver attaches to the wooden portion of the cane there was originally some wordage, however it has been worn too smooth to read now. The handle portion of the cane has been done almost in the shape of a bird's beak. The bottom of the cane has been capped with a metal bottom. This cane measures 36" long and the handle portion is 5 1/4" long. Excellent all original condition on this unique antique cane that you will be sure to want to add to your own personal antique cane collection. - $975.
