W157C  Antique Oak Dog Cage for shipping on Train 

This shipping box has all the original labels from when this box was used to ship a dog on a train. There is a decal that reads Valuable Dog Please Feed and Water and another  reads  'A. Backus, Jr. & Sons - Patents Mnfrs numbers Backus - 562780 - 698782 - Detroit Michigan'. This piece measures 28" high 20" wide and 32" deep. Notice that on the front of the dog house thre is a spring hinged front door where you would store the dog's food and on the front there is the words 'Buffet'. Note that one waters the dog from the roof of the house where it says 'Water'.  This is an exceptional find from the Victorian era. - $2750.   Holiday Special $2450.
