W118C Walnut Victorian New Haven Clock - 1881
This all original walnut kitchen clock is topped with a unique center peak that features a floral decoration in the middle and on either side of the peak there is a rounded dome or cylinder type top on this clock. A very unique and appealing design. The glass door of the clock has a reverse painted scene of flowers, and a sunburst design looking at what appears to be a draped window of a home. The sides of the clock each have two columns. The clock is complete with winding key and pendulum. The pendulum has a patent date of March 1, 1881. Notice that there is even a little decorative brass ormolu added on top of the pendulum. On the backside of this clock there is an original paper label that reads, '8 Day Douro Striking - New Haven Clock Co.'. This clock just has little extras that make it unique and very special. Clock measures 21 1/2" high, 11 1/2" wide and 4 1/4" deep. The face of the clock measures 5" diameter. Above the face of the clock is a second patent date that reads, 'Pat. Feb. 11, 1879'. This clock is in working condition, however when clocks are shipped and or moved many times they will need to be tuned by a person that works on clocks. -
