W099C  Victorian Walnut Clock Shelf with Hinged Storage Compartment

This is a Victorian walnut clock shelf that has Eastlake carving and black ebonzied highlights. The middle section below the shelf is hinged at the top and you can lift the lid to reveal a small storage compartment. This piece is in original finish however there is a few old repairs that have been done. Notice that on the outer right hand side the carved out decorative back board that would rest against the wall, this has been replaced over the years. The wood that they used to duplicate this piece appears to be pine, not walnut. They also have cut off some trim that extended down from the top shelf towards the front of this shelf. One can tell this because you can see where the old finish was on the underside of the top shelf. The shelf measures 16" wide, 5 3/4" deep, and is 11" long. The hinged compartment is 9" x 6 3/4" at the widest points. - $195.
