W091C  Victorian Photo Album Religious Catholic Theme

his all original Victorian photo album has a religious theme and is constructed quite uniquely. To support the religious theme note the brass cross on the very top, while inside the album there is figurines of Mary and Joseph holding the Christ Child and there is even in the center a porcelain holder for holding holy water. Please note that the photo album is opened by pulling the album forward at the top and then the album hinges down to reveal the celluloid cover of an angel holding a small child's hand while walking on a narrow ledge with what appears to be a shepherd's staff. The photo album holds 11 pages for 22 pictures of larger 4" x 6" opening photos and two pages in the very back will hold 16 smaller photos. Beautiful brass spring released latch holds the album locked. The album it's self measures 8" x 10 1/2" and the green felt covered stand measures 12" x 6 1/2" on the base and stands 18 1/2" high. On the very back of the stand there is still an original paper label that reads, 'Frames, Pictures, Religious Articles - M. Fantl'. The name of the city is only partially showing. It starts with the letters, 'Ch' perhaps 'Chicago', although this is just a guess. This is a unique religious piece and if you collect religious items then this one would be a must for your collection. - $675.
