Q007B  Dresden Plate Variation Appliqued Quilt

This is an exceptional appliquéd quilt that we purchased from a local auction in the Scribner, Nebraska area. The auction was for Ray Von Seggern, and at the auction we visited with a relative of the family that stated that this particular quilt that we purchased was made by Mrs. Ray Von Seggern in the late 1930's to the early 1940's, and it would have been made all by hand. Scribner, Nebraska is in Dodge County. This quilt has never been used or washed. Exceptional all original condition on this quilt that measures 78 1/2" x 88 1/2", and notice the beautiful quilted designs and how that stand out on the off white background color of this quilt. The quilting measures 5 to 6 stitches per inch. Soft lavender colors and small appliquéd prints decorate this nice size all original old quilt. Notice how the choice of fabric used makes the lavender blocks stand out and the design of a neck tie is quick to catch your eye. This is a nice piece to have and the original condition is such a great find. There are some shadows cast on the full picture of the quilt. SOLD
