Q005C  Appliquéd Quilt with Flowers & Birds

This is an exceptional all original antique quilt that has never been washed and never used. The appliquéd designs on this quilt are very detailed and you will want to notice all the different themes that are carried throughout this quilt. There is a larger yellow bird that is featured twice on the quilt, once perched and once in flight. Notice that on this yellow bird and in other places there is embroidery on this quilt which makes for a nice added decorative element. Throughout this quilt you will notice that there is three solid colors of fabric that have been used and three small printed designed fabrics of matching colors to the solid fabric that were used. What an amazing eye for beauty, the person had that designed this quilt, one must see this quilt fully displayed to begin to enjoy the full beauty that radiates from this quilt. The center of the quilt features the birds, fruit and the floral appliquéd designs, with four vases and a cornucopia type vase being used. The outer edges of the quilt are encircled with a scrolling vine and flowers design. The quilting in this quilt is also very eye catching as this entire quilt has been quilted in a dark red thread which allows the quilting to stand one against the soft cream or off white background fabric color of the quilt. The quilting is very even and there is approximately 6 stitches per inch quilting. Notice that hearts have been stitched around as an inner border on this quilt, which are quick to catch my eyes. We acquired this quilt in South Dakota, and we were told that this quilt was purchased in Howarden, Iowa at an estate sale for a family with the last name of 'Harding'. This is an exceptional quilt one that we are thrilled to be able to offer for sale. Please note that in some of the above photos there is a glare from the light that shows on the quilt, (this lighter shade of color in the quilt is not there, it is just the light shining on the quilt). - $1,495.
