P096B Boy Fishing with His Dog Print
This print is titled, 'Jes Fishin', and in the lower left hand corner is signed, '@ Gerlach Barklow Co. - Joliet U.S.A.' This print captures the true love of fishing with the relaxing position of this young boy sitting on the dock with his feet enjoying the feel of the water, and his dog right at his side. What a great old print that is still in it's original frame. The frame measures 11 1/2" x 14 1/2". Note on the frame the textured trim and the blue color tone that encircles the print. I also have a second print of three boys fishing that has this same frame, except that instead of blue the color around the frame is brown. Both prints would make a great companion to each other in any young boys room or in any man's room or office that loves fishing.
On the backside of this old print there is written in hand writing the following information: 'February 18, 1928 - Presented to Merlin Holwer Kress - age 2 - by Father, Mother, and Sisters - Shirley (Kress?) attended his birthday supper.'
What a great personal touch to realize that this print was given once to a young two year old boy for his birthday. This print continues to bring happiness to anyone that looks at it.
