M511B Old Mr. Boston Liquor Advertising Clock
This 'Gilbert' clock is displayed in a tin figural advertising display for 'Old Mr. Boston - Fine Liquors'. The face of the clock measures 6 1/2" diameter and the clock figural is 22" high and 10" wide. This clock is complete with it's key for winding. The clock is signed, 'Made by Gilbert at Winsted, Conn. U.S.A.'. What a great advertising piece for those businesses selling Old Mr. Boston liquor. Good original condition with some wear. This eight day clock was made by Gilbert Clock, founded in 1807, and this same clock is featured in the reference book, Country Store Antiques - from Cradles to Caskets' by Douglas Congdon-Martin With Robert Biondi on page 108. - $775.
