M080 Sterling Silver Thimble

This is a heavier than normal #6 thimble. Engraved on the inside of the thimble on the very tip of the thimble, it reads; 'STERLING' - 'M?D'. I can not make out the middle letter or emblem, the initials are done in a fancy script lettering and I can't read it as easily as the word, Sterling. Note on the outside band of the thimble the number '6'. The condition of the thimble is very good, you can tell that it has been used, because there is minimal wear marks. Measures 3/4" high, and 5/8" diameter on the bottom. There is no repairs, all original. Also, note the stylish engraving around the bottom band on the thimble. This is a nice Sterling thimble.
