G473B  Art Glass Peach Blow Water Set in Silver Plated Holder

This is one of the most unusual and beautiful pieces of art glass that I have ever seen. This water set consists of a water pitcher, six tumblers, and a remarkable silver plated holder and carrier (note the handles). The silver plated holder is marked, 'Aurora Silver Plate Mfg. Co.' This is one of the finest pieces of silver workmanship that I have seen. Notice the full figured swans, and full figured birds that decorate this holder, not to mention all the very detailed engraved designs of butterflies, insects, birds, fish, lizards, plants, and flowers just to name a few. This footed raised holder measures approximately 13 1/2" diameter, and to the top of the handles which allow you to carry this tray measures 10 3/4" high. Again, this tray is an exceptional piece of silver plated craftsmanship. Of equal high quality is the art glass Peach Blown set of six tumblers and water pitcher. All made to fix perfectly in this silver plated holder. The pitcher and tumblers are all decorated with a floral enameled design and highlights of gold outline the floral designs. Tight crimped top on the water pitcher with 'duck bill' spout. Opal interior with applied 'thorn' transparent handle. The six tumblers measure approximately 4" high and 2 3/4" diameter the water pitcher is 10 1/4" high with an approximate width of 6 1/2" diameter at the widest point of the pitcher. Excellent all original condition. One tumbler has slight roughness when rubbing one's finger around the top edge, however the gold highlights that encircle this tumbler are all complete and rest in this 'area' so it would appear that this 'area' is original to the making of that particular tumbler. Again, no cracks, no chips, all original. This is an exquisite set and we have never seen an art glass water set with such a beautiful silver plated server before. - SOLD
