G431B Victorian Brides Basket old art glass attr. Phoenix Swirl Design
This is a beautiful swirling design, ribbed, ruffled bowl done in a unique oblong shape. The bowl is done in a satin finish with a subtle shading from ruby to opalizable crystal.We attribute this bowl to Phoenix glass.The swirl pattern was a technique that was patented in this country by Webb while he was working at Phoenix. The basket its self measures 12" long by 7 1/2" wide. The basket rests securely in a marked, 'Derby' frame. The frame holder is marked, 'Quadruple plate - Derby Silver Co. - Derby, CT - 3253'. The holder is decorated with leaves and berries and the base has a wavy design to the pedestal base for a unique appearance. This is a quality piece of art glass that is in excellent all original condition. We are thrilled to be able to offer this fine piece of American Art Glass for sale.
