G347C Amphora 25" high Figural Girl Statue
Subdued tones of green, gold, purple, brown, and cream decorate this impressive and heart tugging pose of this full bodied figure of a young girl who has the corner of her apron in her mouth as if in a nervous habit pose. This beautiful piece of artwork is a signed piece of Amphora and it is marked and stamped on the bottom, 'Amphora - Turn Teplitz - Bohemia - 'RStK - Made in Austria', also impressed into the statue is the number, '4425'. When referring to the reference book, 'Ceramics from The House of Amphora' by Richard L. Scott, on page 321 you can see this Amphora trademark and it is referred to as 'AM-2' and pieces with this signature have a circa dating 1899 to 1900. The statue is in remarkable all original condition with only minor crazing in the glaze on the piece. Impressive in size yet this small girl is sure to find a small soft spot in anyone's heart once you begin to take in her beauty. The statue measure 24 3/4" high and has a diameter of 8" on the base.
