G276B  Cast Iron Hanging Kitchen Oil Lamp Fancy

This is an all original old cast iron oil hanging kitchen lamp that has a beautiful patina and is all complete. Almost every piece has patent dates of the 1871 - 1876 time period. The metal brackets that allow this lamp to hang are very well built and strong. On the lowest metal bracket it reads, 'Pat. Jan. 31, 1871, & Aug. 31, 1875'. Again notice the beautiful embossed design and the beautiful patina to the iron. The oil kerosene base has a frosted design on the glass with a seven pointed star design. And note the insert on the bottom of this base to attach it to the metal bracket and hold it secure. The bottom of this glass also has a patent date 'Aug. 31 '75'. The dial works to raise and lower the wick. When the chimney is on the base this unit together measures 14 1/2" high. The milk glass shade has a diameter of 13 3/4" diameter on the bottom of the shade and at the top is 6 1/4" diameter. This hanging kitchen lamp is complete with the smoke bell. The diameter at the opening of this milk glass smoke bell is 4". Excellent all original condition on this entire lamp. There is even the original and matching hook that attaches into the ceiling to hang this lamp. There is quite a bit of weight to this lamp and you will want to be sure to get this hook into a secure stud when hanging this lamp. The diameter of the top circle with the loop to attach to the ceiling hook has a diameter of 4" with the three petal chain attachments extending out another 1 1/2". The weighed cast iron circle has a diameter of approximately 10". This is a hanging kitchen lamp that is all complete and one could burn out of it today if you really wanted to. - $950.
