G235B Cranberry Enameled Pickle Castor Victorian
This is beautiful Victorian cranberry enameled pickle castor all complete with silverplated holder and pickle tongs. Note the deep six sectional paneled design that this pickle castor insert has been designed with. If you note the enameled designs are done on alternating sections with a scrolling molded design in between the enameled sections. A beaded molded design highlights the very base of the insert and a smaller beaded sections are placed in the crevice of each section with a fleurs-de-lis at the tops. These designs are highlighted with gold accents. This cranberry insert is in very good all original condition. The holder is stamped on the bottom, 'Aurora S. P. Mfg. Co. - 683 - Warranted Triple Plate'. An open pierced design is quick to catch your eyes when viewing this holder which comes complete with the pickle tongs, and silver plated lid for the cranberry insert. This is an excellent piece of quality Victorian art glass that you will be sure to want to add to your own personal collection. This holder stands 11 1/2" high and the widest point is 6 3/4" wide on the holder. The diameter of the insert is 4 1/4" at the widest points and the opening of the insert is 2 3/4". This pickle castor came from out of the estate of Phyllis Hunt of Moberly, Missouri whose family owned the Budweiser Distributorship and the Moberly Plating Company. SOLD
