G188A Loetz type Victorian Art Glass Bride's Basket
- Beautiful color and outstanding iridescence! This is a Loetz type Victorian Art Glass Bride's Basket. Notice the unique rolled edges on this piece and the wonderful dimples that are in excellent original condition. So many times these pulled in dimples are nicked, but not this time, this basket is in excellent original condition. Excellent ground pontil on the bottom of the bowl. The quadruple silver plated holder is of the same high quality as is the Loetz basket. Notice the two ladies' heads on the handle and the wonderful scrolling highly decorated base on this stand. The holder is signed, 'Lexington Silver Co. - Quadruple Plated' there is engraved numbers on the base of '1277 - 23353 - 4511-3'. The holder stands 12" high and the base has a 4 3/4" diameter opening where the bottom of the basket rests. The Loetz basket measures 4 1/4" high at the highest point and 3 1/4" high where the edges are rolled tight. Approximate diameter is 9" on the bowl.
