G134B  Kerosene Lamp - Wavecrest 

This is a beautiful antique Kerosene lamp that is attributed to Wavecrest. Notice the gold highlights with a floral theme on the opal ware, but look closer and you will see that the base is decorated on two cupids on opposite sides of the base. Excellent all original condition with some wear to the gold highlights. The only marking that I can find on this lamp is located on the knob for adjusting the wick and it reads, 'M.B. Co. NY Pat. Apl. 30.83'. The lamp is all complete with the glass chimney and the opal ware globe, fancy brass burner with rim, and opal ware base. This is a hard to find item and we were thrilled to be able to acquire this lamp from the Bea Fray estate auction of Moberly, Missouri. The base measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", the top globe is 8" diameter at the widest point at the top opening is 3" diameter. When assembled this lamp stands 18" high to the top of the glass chimney. Nice scrolling designs in the opal ware moldings of this lamp. This is a lamp that you will not want to miss adding to your own personal Wavecrest collections. - $850.
