G051C  Cranberry Pickle Castor Mary Gregory

Beautiful cranberry glass pickle castor insert that is decorated with the very touching Mary Gregory scene. One can feel the layers of enameling when you rub your finger over the Mary Gregory figure. Quality and detailed are two words to describe this enameled scene. This cranberry insert measures 4 1/2" high. The silver plated holder is of the same high quality as the insert and it is signed by its maker, M.S. Benedict Quadruple Plate #427.The M.S. Benedict Manufacturing Company was established by Mainor Stuart Benedict in East Syracuse in the early 1890s and continued in operation until c.1945. The frame has four claw feet supporting the base and a cupid design on either side of the top of the holder. This pickle castor set is all complete with the lid and the tongs. Again excellent all original condition and what a beautiful pickle castor it is! The holder stands 10 1/4" high. If you collect cranberry glass or Mary Gregory then you will not want to miss adding this great find to your own personal collection.
