G028C Wedgwood Majolica Fish Platter & 4 Plates
Rare and exceptional signed pieces of Wedgwood majolica, all done is a very realistic fish décor make up this 5 piece setting. The platter measures an impressive 25" long and 13" wide. The height of the platter stands 2" high as the platter is on four raised feet. 'Wedgwood' is impressed in the bottoms of each piece along with 'M2605'. The four smaller plates measure 8 3/4" diameter and stand 3/4" high. This rare set can be referenced in different majolica books, 'Victorian Majolica' by Bockol on page 70 and 'Warman's Majolica' by Moran on page 199. What an excellent addition to any fine majolica collection this five piece setting would make, as well as making a wonderful addition to a room décor with the fish theme. Excellent all original condition on all five pieces. It is amazing the details in this set, you can feel the scales of the fish as you slide your hand over the plates and platter. - SOLD
