F670B Oak Fainting Couch Leather Upholstery
This is an exceptional all original quarter sawn oak fainting couch with fancy tufted leather upholstery. Outstanding piece with thick applied oak carvings on the base. The extra work that went in to the upholstery work on this fainting couch was well worth the effort, notice how beautiful this piece is and how the tufted design catches your eye right away. The length is 79" long, 32" wide and at the highest point is 30"' high. This is a great find that you would not want to miss adding to your own personal collections.
Note that on one of the lower feet the applied carving is missing, there is a
pattern one can use, as the opposite side is complete. Exceptional piece!
On the bottom of this fainting couch there is an original manufacture shipping label that reads, 'From W.K. Miller, furniture Carpets, Baby carriages Stoves and Sewing Machines - 136 and 138 Fifth Avenue - Clinton, Iowa, and the tag reads that the couch was originally purchased by W.M. Dugan of Gosard Mound, Iowa'.
We are thrilled to have the providence on this all original Victorian leather parlor fainting couch which was first owned by W.M. Dougan 1899 - 1910 from Gosard Mound, Iowa. The second owner was Dr. J. Cooper, Villisca, Iowa, 1910 - 1962, of
