W174B Oak Plaque with Steer Horns & Photo
This is a very unique wall plaque that is made with an oak backboard cut out in the shape of a shield design with a beveled edge around the entire design. Notice the cattle horns which we have been told were steer horns and I do not know if I am spelling the term correctly but they were called, 'coreanne' horns as this is the type of horns that are on steers, where the horns do not continue to grow so much. The horns are in good original condition. Below the horns there is a photograph of two young girls, dressed in their finest clothing. Outlining the photograph is a lariat rope. This piece definitely has a masculine and Western theme to it. Perhaps, these two young girls gave this hat rack to their father for a special gift. The plaque measures 19 1/2" long from the top of the brass hook to the bottom tip on the plaque. The plaque is 13 1/2" wide and the horns are approximately 9" deep. This is a great Western collectible that would work great to hang up one's cowboy hat, and or coat.
