Q007A Childs Baby Quilt - 

This is a very nice old child's quilt that is done in a soft color combination of blue and white squares. Each white square features an embroidered animal. There is six different animals; giraffe, monkey, bear, zebra, lion and elephant. Each animal is featured twice on the quilt, however in the second square the animal is facing the opposite direction. The white blocks measure 7 1/2" x 7 1/2". No holes that go completely through the quilt. The condition is good, the quilt has been used, but is in no way worn out. There is three or more places on the edge trim where the fabric needs reattached. The edging appears to be a lighter blue color, than the blue blocks used in the quilt. This quilt has a bit of a worn look in places, but that only attests to it's age and adds to the character of the quilt. There are a few stains, but as with all of my antique quilts, I have never washed it, but you certainly can. (I think the dirty look would wash right out of this quilt). I hate to try washing it before one sews the trim back on in the few places it is loose, and I don't sew well myself. The quilting is very even and nice. The stitches are 6 to 7 stitches per inch, and the quilting pattern is that of a fan design. What is great about this quilt is that it still has life left in it to still be used on a small child's bed, yet it isn't so expensive that you are afraid to use it there. I also have a second quilt that I got with this one, and that quilt has been done in a soft green and yellow color combination. This quilt measures 45" x 60" in overall size. Again, a great wall hanging for a child's or babies room or this quilt would work great to use to wrap up in when rocking a child or used as a bedspread. - $175.
