G023 Portrait Bowl -

This is a beautiful PORTRAIT bowl that measures 8 1/2"Diameter. It is marked on the bottom; 'PROV. SXE. - E.S. GERMANY'. This bowl has excellent painting and the gold shows no wear and is in exceptional condition. In the book, 'The Collector's Encyclopedia of R.S. Prussia, Second Series, and other R.S. & E.S. Porcelain, by Mary Gaston identifies this bowl's mark is Mark 20 on page 19. The book attributes this mark to the circa of 1900 to 1920.
This bowl has a beautiful burgundy tiffany finish with gold flowers decorating the major part of the background. The gold decoration is in really good condition., even the gold on the edge of the bowl is mostly intact. The edge has five fleur-de-lis with reticulated centers. The portrait is hand painted and she is a beauty. All original, no repairs, no cracks, and no chips, or hairlines. This is a great piece, don't miss adding this to your collection! -SOLD
